Wheal Martyn is delighted to showcase seascapes, abstract paintings and more from Cornwall Council Schools Art Collection this summer, offering everyone a chance to view these stunning works, whilst providing a unique opportunity to experience this body of high-quality artworks by renowned artists.

The collection, which belongs to Cornwall Council began as a donation and was intended to inspire the children of Cornwall to engage with art. It includes diverse artworks from paintings to sculptures and more.

Sian Powell, Exhibition and Engagement Officer, said: “We are delighted to be showcasing a portion of the Cornwall Council Schools Art Collection this summer. This collection is primarily housed in Royal Cornwall Museum which have generously loaned us a range of works including bronze sculpture, watercolours, etchings and oil paintings. The collection was created to engage with school age children in Cornwall and introduce them to diverse art styles and artists who were from, have lived in or were inspired by, Cornwall. However, it is also an exciting way for us to share a number of prominent artists’ work with our museum visitors this summer season.”
